Accessible Equipment

We proudly offer a variety of accessible fitness equipment at MRU Recreation.

Descriptions for the equipment photos below are listed in order of appearance (row 1, left to right; row 2, left to right):

  1. SciFit Upper Body Exerciser: Helps you strengthen your arms, shoulders, and core stabilizing muscles. It’s a great option for upper-body cardio conditioning. The seat is easily removable to allow for wheelchair access.
  2. Bravo Pro Functional Trainer: This Cybex Bravo Functional Trainer lets you train hundreds of movements in a single, space-efficient machine. The system combines unique technologies and the best aspects of selectorized and cable-based strength training equipment to offer simple, safe operation with expanded functionality and better results.
  3. Row: The Cybex Row will help you strengthen your back, shoulder, and arm muscles.
  4. Infinity Rope: This Life Fitness Rope Pull helps you strengthen your back, arms, and core muscles while also strengthening your cardiovascular system. 
  5. Infinity Rope 2: This Life Fitness Rope Pull helps you strengthen your back, arms, and core muscles while also strengthening your cardiovascular system. 
  6. Cable Column: This Cybex Cable Column will help you strengthen your back, shoulder, and arm muscles by isolating one muscle group at a time. Two large stability handles provide wheelchair users with the ability to stabilize when performing unilateral (single arm) exercises.
  7. Functional Electronic Stimulation (FES) Bike: An FES bike is a stationary bike with a computer that supplies electrical impulses. It will automatically detect muscle output and produce current at the right time. This allows you to naturally cycle despite weakness, paralysis, or other functional issues.
  8. Overhead Press: This Cybex Overhead Press will help you strengthen your shoulder, back, and chest muscles.
  9. Chest Press: This Cybex Chest Press will help you strengthen your chest, shoulder, and arm muscles.
  10. Raised Mat: This raised mat table provides a stable surface for stretching.
