Swim Registration

Swim Lessons

Build this life skill with Lifesaving Society Swim for Life lessons. We offer group, private and semi-private swim lessons for children, youth and adults. One of our certified instructors would be happy to give your family a free assessment to determine their swim level.

Fitness Swimmer

This program is for swimmers who want to improve their overall physical fitness in the water. Fitness Swimmer provides a structured approach based on training principles and practices, including interval training. Participants set their own goals and there are no levels.

Swim Assessment

Drop by during our lane/open swim times and we can give you a level assessment. Any child under 9 must be accompanied by an adult when in the water.

H2Able Swim

H2Able is a one-on-one adapted swimming lesson program that provides critical life skills for those with disabilities in aquatic emergency situations. The goal of the program is to gain confidence and comfort in the aquatic environment and to learn aquatic survival skills while having fun.

Lifesaving SwimAbilities

SwimAbilities is a learn to swim program created in consultation with an Occupational Therapist geared for children who require additional supports. The program provides lessons where the caregiver is in the water to provide one-on-one focus while being under the direction of a certified instructor. SwimAbilities assists children and their caregivers to increase safety, independence, and enjoyment in and around the water. Children may begin SwimAbilities at any level and may continue into other swim programs if they are comfortable doing so.

Junior Lifeguard Club

This program is designed to challenge swimmers toward achieving their personal best in swimming, lifesaving, fitness, leadership, and teamwork while focusing on fun and personal success. This club focuses on continuous improvement as opposed to regular swimming lessons (there is no complete/incomplete). MRU is a recognized Lifesaving Sport club therefore swimmers have the opportunity to compete in meets.

Lifesaving Sport is the world's most demanding, multi-disciplinary sport in the world; combining athletic ability with lifesaving skills and rescue equipment. Lifesaving Sport is unique because it is the only sport in which skills are learned for humanitarian purposes and then applied to competition.

Prerequisite(s): Red Cross Swim Kids 6 or higher, 8 - 16 years old and can tread water for at least 1 minute.

Semi-Private Swim Lesson Registration

To book a semi-private lesson, first register one person for a private swim lesson time to obtain the private lesson spot you are interested in. Ensure online accounts have been created for both individuals attending semi-private lessons (participants need to be no more than two levels apart). Call, 403-440-6517, or come in person to customer service with the course number, name of the second individual, swim level they are in, and any medical conditions we should be aware of. They will register and take payment for the second individual.
