The MRU Women’s Rugby Club can continue building its strong, inclusive culture by introducing initiatives that support both new and returning players. A rookie buddy system and “Intro to Rugby” clinics will help newcomers feel welcomed and confident, while rotating leadership roles—like social or wellness leads—encourage personal growth and shared responsibility.
Monthly team-building events such as “Skills & Chill” nights, along with anonymous feedback tools and open chat spaces, will further strengthen team connection and promote mental well-being. To boost visibility and campus engagement, the club can spotlight its activities through Club Week, social media highlights, and participation in MRU events like the annual Blood Drive and Alumni Game.
These efforts reflect MRU’s core community values and will help create a fun, empowering, and welcoming space for all women in rugby.
